During the early part of spring, Papa would pack his satchel and head out on one of his long journeys to gather unique items for his prized star designs. This particular year, he made a detour, got slightly lost and decided to stop and rest in the cave he discovered. As he lay his head on a pile of leaves, he felt something quite hard.  Thinking it was just a rock, he took it and tossed it aside towards his satchel. When he awoke, he discovered that it was not a rock but a dragon’s egg.  He wrapped it up in cloth and stuck it in his satchel to bring home to Momma. She would know what to do with this egg once he got home. (Story continues in the pattern)

Super cute pattern that adapts well for various yarn weights! I love that the tail can be tail-ored (get it?) to the length you need to suit the Christmas tree of your choosing. Really creative wing structure, love how they turned out!
